Explore

Explore is the home page. It is made to bring old photos back into view, and it is different every time you open it.

What is on it

• Library totals: photos, videos, people, folders, photos with a place, and space on disk. Each one is a link.
• On this day: photos taken on today's date in earlier years. See all opens them in the timeline.
• Rediscover: a random handful of older photos. Shuffle deals a new hand.
• Then and now: the same people years apart.
• Places, People, Trips and events: cards for the places you photograph most, the people in your library, and the trips and events iopix found (see What AI analysis gives you).
• Detected content: photos grouped by what they show, such as beaches, food or buildings, when content search is installed.
• Things: your most used tags.
• Quick filters, years, cameras, photographers and file types as pills with counts.

Sections with nothing to show are left out.

Photo size

Explore has one setting: the size of the photos in its rows, S, M or L, remembered on each device.
